Silwerskerm Awards: First winners announced

The first half of the Silwerskerm Awards for Film and TV took place on Saturday morning (23 August) at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay.

Winners were announced in the following categories:

  • Technical categories across all genres
  • Short film and documentary categories
  • Selected feature film categories

At this event, Marida Swanepoel – a founding member of kykNET, among other achievements – was also honoured for her lifetime contribution.

The winners in the categories for best feature film, as well as for best actors and supporting actors in a feature film will be announced on Saturday evening at the glamorous awards ceremony in the Cape Town International Convention Centre (CTICC).

The winners in the categories for best feature film, as well as best actor, best actress, best supporting actor and best supporting actress in a feature film will be announced Saturday night at the award ceremony in the CTICC.
