Family film and comedic short film each win four awards at kykNET Silwerskerm Awards
The winners in 20 film categories of the kykNET Silwerskerm Awards were announced on the morning of Saturday, 22 August, at The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay.
The morning’s blue carpet event focused on the technical categories for all the feature films and on the short film and documentary categories. Among the feature films, the family film Silas en die Ysbeer op Tafelberg walked away with four awards, while the comedic short film Twee persent also claimed four awards.
The legendary filmmaker Koos Roets received an honorary award for his lifetime contribution to the entertainment industry.
The winners of all the television categories and four of the headline categories for feature film were announced on Saturday evening at a glamorous event at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
