Entries open for independent feature films
The kykNET Silwerskerm Festival is already warming up for its 14th festival in Camps Bay during August this year. The festival invites independent filmmakers to submit their feature films for consideration to be screened in competition as part of the official, curated programme.
Criteria for consideration:
- It must be a South African premiere for the feature film. (The film may have premiered elsewhere in the world by August.)
- The dialogue must be predominantly (75%) in Afrikaans.
- The runtime of the film must be between 80 and 120 minutes.
- Only completed feature films will be considered, and a password-protected viewing link must be provided.
- The final deadline for submissions is Wednesday 8 April 2026.
All films will be considered and curated by the MultiChoice content heads as well as the Silwerskerm Festival programme manager. Final results will be announced by 30 April 2026.
